Montanez-Montes joined CLINIC in February 2017 as the Vulnerable Populations Program Assistant. Before CLINIC, she worked as a criminal defense paralegal in California. She has experience in legal social justice work and Latino advocacy. Montanez-Montes interned at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund. She is a certified paralegal, has a BA in Political Science with concentration in Legal Studies, and a BA in French from California State University, Chico. During her undergraduate studies, Katherine was a part of her university's student-run nonprofit, Community Legal Information Center, where she provided legal information to clients on a range of legal issues. Katherine speaks fluent Spanish and is proficient in French.
