CLINIC is committed to protecting the privacy of our donors. CLINIC’s Donor Privacy Policy applies to all information received by CLINIC relating to donations. The policy includes information received online, including through CLINIC’s website and social media, and electronic, written, or verbal communications.
CLINIC will not sell, rent, or exchange donor names or personally identifiable information with any other organization or individual. Nor will we send emails or mailings to donors on behalf of other organizations. The following exceptions apply:
- If we employ or consult with other entities, they may have access to donor personal information as necessary to perform their function but will be required to abide by the Donor Privacy Policy.
- When required by court order, law, or other government authority.
Personally identifiable information includes information that can be used to identify you, our donor, such as your name, address, email, and credit card information. It does not include aggregate or anonymized information; nor does it include information that is publicly available.
We take all reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access. In the unlikely occurrence of a data breach involving donors’ personally identifiable information, we will notify affected individuals.

Collection of personal data
CLINIC only collects and maintains personal information that is sent to us directly from an individual or company. Personal information may include your first and last name, your home or other physical address, your electronic mail address, your credit card number, your bank or brokerage account information and other similar information. When you visit our website located at www.cliniclegal.org and any co-branded or successor site (the "website"), CLINIC may ask you for and collect personal identifiable information from you to provide certain products and services to you; to communicate with you; to provide customer service and support to you; to send promotional e-mails and information about our company; and for internal marketing and promotional purposes. CLINIC may collect personal identifiable information about you whenever you interact with us including, but not limited to, the following:

You can visit www.cliniclegal.org without telling us who you are and without revealing any information about yourself. However, to access certain portions of the website, you may have to submit information such as a user-id and password, or you may have to provide personal information such as your name, address, and email.
To complete online transactions, you will be asked for your address, email and credit card information. This required information is necessary for us to process transactions, protect you against credit card fraud and contact you should the need arise in administering your account.
Disclosure and sharing of personal identifiable information
CLINIC cares about the safety and security of your personal information and online transactions. We have implemented appropriate physical, technical and organizational measures to help keep your information secure, accurate, current and complete. The companies we work with to process online credit card transactions use high grade encryption and the https security protocol to communicate with your browser software. This method is the industry standard security protocol. CLINIC will not share mailing lists with other nonprofit organizations. It also will not distribute, sell, rent or otherwise disclose your personal identifiable information to any third party except as follows:
- To business partners, suppliers and other third parties that help us to provide certain products and services to you, to process payments and to process donations;
- In special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with CLINIC’s rights or property, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities;
- In special circumstances, such as the sale or potential sale of CLINIC or its assets or the bankruptcy of CLINIC;
- When we believe in good faith that it is required by law.
Opting out and other rights

CLINIC reserves the right to send you certain communications relating to this website that are considered part of your account, such as technical alerts, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them.
Disclosure to third parties
CLINIC does not rent, exchange or sell the email addresses or credit card information of our supporters.
Children's privacy (individuals under age 13)
CLINIC is committed to protecting the privacy of children and encourages parents and guardians to take an active role in their child's online activities and interests. You must be at least 13 years of age to use this website. CLINIC does not knowingly collect, use or disclose personal identifiable information about visitors to our website who are under 13 years of age.

CLINIC cannot ensure and does not warrant the security of any information that you transmit to us, which you do at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems. CLINIC uses encryption and security software to secure all sensitive information, including without limitation, credit card numbers that are transmitted to us over the Internet. Credit card numbers are used for processing payments and for no other purposes.
To access and use certain online services on the website, we may require you to select a unique user name and password.
