Thomas-Suggs, the Director of Advancement for CLINIC, is a veteran fundraising professional with a certificate in fundraising, focusing on major donor acquisition and capital campaigns. During her advancement career she has worked in Germany, Spain, Israel and the Caribbean in both fundraising and nonprofit management.

Before coming to CLINIC, Thomas-Suggs was executive director for the Society of St. Paul the Apostle, the Paulist Fathers, and vice president of development for the American Lung Association. While an undergraduate student, she began her development career at Gallaudet University as a grant writer.

Her experience has included tenures at other major universities: Fisk University and James Madison University, where she focused on corporate and foundation relations, and her alma mater, Howard University, where she was director of the university’s first capital campaign.

She is a member of the Planned Giving Council, National Catholic Development Council, Association of Professional Fundraisers, Ladies of Charity, National Council of Catholic Women and many social and civic organizations. She has conducted numerous workshops on the subject of nonprofit management and fundraising for faith-based organizations.
