Update on Public Charge

Jan. 13, 2023 | 2-3:30 p.m. ET | CA MCLE: 1.5

Registration is at capacity. A recorded version of this webinar will be posted on CLINIC’s website here.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, or USCIS, final rule defining the public charge ground of inadmissibility is scheduled to go into effect on Dec. 23, 2022, as will the new version of the Form I-485. Perhaps more importantly, the agency will soon update its USCIS Policy Manual and explain how adjudicators will be applying this new definition to applications for adjustment of status. It will be most helpful to learn how the five statutory factors, in addition to the affidavit of support, will be incorporated into the public charge analysis. In this free webinar, CLINIC staff will summarize the changes and provide guidance for completing the I-485 and preparing for the adjustment interview.

A recorded version of this webinar will be posted on CLINIC's website here.   .

NOTE: This webinar takes place in Eastern Time. Certificates of attendance are only issued if you attend live webinars.
