Helping Families Prepare for the Worst: Advance Planning & Tutorial on CLINIC’s 50-State Resource
About This Recording
As immigration enforcement actions escalate across the country, immigrant legal service providers are fielding urgent requests from clients who need assistance in preparing for the possibility of detention or deportation. Service providers are being told their clients need help with guardianship and power of attorney, yet immigration attorneys rarely have expertise in these complex, nuanced areas of law.
To bridge this gap, CLINIC—along with volunteers from across the country—has been working diligently to create a 50-state resource to help affiliates meet this need.
In this webinar, CLINIC staff will outline and define advance planning issues, provide a tutorial on how to use CLINIC’s new 50-state advance planning tool, and discuss capacity-building skills and strategies to help affiliates conduct outreach and build partnerships with family law, estate planning, and other attorneys with expertise in these areas of law.
