CLINIC joined an amicus brief in Casa de Maryland v. Wolf, a case pending in the federal district court in Maryland, in support of the plaintiffs’ motion for a preliminary injunction. The case is challenging recently published rules that would make it more difficult for asylum seekers to obtain employment authorization documents, or EADs, while their applications for asylum are pending. The amicus discusses ways in which the new rule violates the Administrative Procedures Act, as well as client stories about the lifeline that work authorization provides for asylum seekers.
