CLINIC joined an amicus brief in Bollat Vasques v. Wolf, a case pending in the Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, in which the government is appealing a Massachusetts federal district court decision allowing five asylum seekers to pursue their claims from within the United States rather than being subjected to the so-called Migrant Protection Protocols, or MPP. The amicus explains how MPP is designed to make asylum seekers lose their applications for protection. CLINIC is very concerned about MPP issues and has established a special project in Ciudad Juarez, Estamos Unidos, to help asylum seekers who have been returned to Mexico.
