Preparing for the Expansion of Expedited Removal

Expedited removal allows low-level Department of Homeland Security officers to summarily order the removal of non-citizens without the procedural protections that are otherwise afforded to persons in regular removal proceedings. With the expansion of expedited removal on the horizon, it is more crucial than ever to understand how expedited removal works and how to best defend clients who are subjected to expedited removal. Join the presenters in a discussion of the legal framework of expedited removal and learn how to advocate effectively for the release of your client and to have your client placed in removal proceedings under section 240 of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
