Removing Barriers to Care During the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Global Pandemic

CLINIC, CCUSA, CHA, and USCCB/COM jointly submitted a letter to Homeland Security Acting Secretary Chad Wolf on March 18, 2020, urging DHS and its components to remove barriers to health care access so that immigrants may safely comply with governmental recommendations during the COVID-19 global pandemic. Specifically, the letter requests DHS review all immigration enforcement activities and operations and broadly release explicit guidance that the public charge rule does not apply during the crisis.
