My name is Sr. Necy Guan and I am a Canossian sister. My engagement with CLINIC began as I was entrusted by my Provincial Leader with the responsibility of managing the immigration matters for one of our sisters, which led me to begin my work with CLINIC.

Miguel Naranjo, director of Religious Immigration Services at CLINIC, and Rita Dhakal, senior paralegal, provided generous and patient support, addressing our concerns and resolving complex immigration issues.

Securing an R-1 visa is neither a simple nor swift process. It requires patience, time, energy, and a consistent effort in gathering the necessary documents and maintaining communication. Despite the challenges, they successfully helped us secure a R-1 visas for five of our sisters—one from Japan, two from the Philippines, and two from India—within a short timeframe. Currently, we have an application for permanent residency in progress.

The travel arrangements for two of our sisters, who needed to return to the United States from Mexico, were made possible by a supportive letter from Miguel. The dedication and tireless efforts of this organization, often going the extra mile and beyond, have truly been a blessing for us.

On a personal note, working with CLINIC has been more than just about securing visas. Their mentorship has deepened my understanding of immigration laws. The consultation sessions were invaluable, providing insights into the "what" and "how" of the application process.

I can wholeheartedly attest to and recommend the outstanding work CLINIC does on behalf of the Roman Catholic Church in the United States. This has been a remarkable experience, and I am confident that their services will continue to yield positive outcomes. They, too, are valuable workers in the vineyard – the Catholic Church.
