Celebrating a Milestone in Immigration as a Paralegal

This year I celebrate 15 years working at CLINIC. I was born into a Hindu family in Nepal and studied at a Christian convent school. Growing up in this environment, I have developed a unique perspective on life, influenced by both religious and cultural backgrounds. Attending a Christian school has exposed me to different religious teachings and viewpoints, allowing me to assist priests and sisters in their migration journeys. I also worked with refugees in Nepal before I moved to the United States in 2004. In 2005, I took my first job in the United States with an immigration law firm, where I learned the fundamentals of U.S. immigration law, including key processes such as visa applications and green card petitions. That first job provided me with the opportunity to work closely with attorneys and foreign nationals, as well as the chance to gain valuable legal experience. In 2009, I started working at CLINIC, assisting religious workers with their R-1 visas, permanent residency applications, and naturalization processes.
As I celebrate 15 years, I view this milestone not only as a dedication to my commitment to my career but also as a significant contribution to those navigating the immigration process. It is remarkable to witness how much has changed while recognizing what remains the same. Although there are challenging days, the moments of success, gratitude, and client satisfaction keep me motivated and committed to my work as a paralegal. One of the most fulfilling aspects of this journey is maintaining strong relationships between attorneys and clients, which contributes to a more positive and effective experience for everyone involved. It reflects individual successes, and the trust and confidence clients have in their representation. I am especially grateful for the trust and support I have received from my supervisor and the team along the way.
