Important Religious Worker Update: Non-Minister Permanent Residence Program Extended through Nov. 21
Last Updated
On Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, President Trump signed a Continuing Resolution (H.R. 4378 (116)) into law, funding the federal government through Nov. 21, 2019. The Continuing Resolution also extends Title I of Division H (Immigration Extensions) of Public Law 116-6 (Continuing Appropriations Act 2019) and funds 2020 government appropriations through Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019. This includes projects and activities of the agencies of the federal government, including the immigration program for Non-Minister Religious Workers. Thus, the sunset of the Non-Minister permanent residence program under Sec. 101(a)(27)(C)(ii)(II) and (III) of the Immigration and Nationality Act is extended until Nov. 21, 2019.
We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as they arise. For more information please contact the Religious Immigration Services section at 301-565-4832 or contact your RIS attorney directly.
