U.S. Catholic Groups Request the Extension and Redesignation of Temporary Protected Status for Haiti, Somalia, and Yemen, and Redesignation of Venezuela

On Nov. 16, 2020, Catholic Charities USA, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Committee on Migration, Catholic Relief Services, and the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc., wrote to both Secretary Mayorkas at the Department of Homeland Security and Secretary Blinken at the Department of State to express gratitude for the recent designation of Ethiopia for Temporary Protected Status, or TPS; the extension and redesignation of TPS for Burma; and the Administration's decision to extend TPS for countries whose designations were at issue in the Ramos v. Nielson and Bhattarai v. Nielson cases.
