If you are a current Sudanese or Nicaraguan TPS holder, you can show your employer you have an automatic extension of your TPS and work authorization until April 2, 2019 by presenting:

• The Federal Register Notice granting the automatic extension until April 2, 2019 and
• Your most recent Employment Authorization Document (EAD)
  • For Sudanese TPS holders, your most recent EAD will have an expiration date of either Nov. 2, 2017 or Nov. 2, 2018.
  • For Nicaraguan TPS holders, your most recent EAD will have an expiration date of either Jan. 5, 2018 or Jan. 5, 2019.

At the Department of Motor Vehicles, other public or private institutions, or to law enforcement:

If you are a current Sudanese or Nicaraguan TPS holder, you can use the documents listed below to show that you have an automatic extension of your TPS and EAD until April 2, 2019:

A copy of the Federal Register Notice granting the automatic extension of work authorization 

AND

• Your current EAD, or
• A copy of your Form I-94 Arrival/Departure Record, or
• Your Form I-797 Notice of Action Approval Notice, or
• Any other relevant Department of Homeland Security document that shows your immigration status or authorization to be in the U.S.

NOTE that the laws and requirements of states and institutions may vary so you should confirm what specific documents are required.
