CLINIC Receives Texas Bar Foundation Grant to Support Texas Immigration Practitioners at CLINIC Convening 2025 in San Antonio

SILVER SPRING, Maryland — The Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC), is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a grant from the Texas Bar Foundation to provide stipends and scholarships for Texas-based immigration legal service providers to attend CLINIC Convening in San Antonio, Texas, from May 28-30, 2025. This grant will cover essential expenses, including registration fees, travel, and accommodation, ensuring that immigration advocates from Texas have access to high-quality professional development opportunities.

CLINIC Convening 2025 will bring together immigration practitioners from across the country to learn, connect, and collaborate on the latest issues impacting immigrant communities. Texas-based participants will benefit from expert-led workshops, seminars, and panel discussions, where they can deepen their expertise and address key topics like recent immigration trends and anticipated policy changes following the 2024 presidential election. The grant funding will also cover administrative costs related to selecting and disbursing stipends, streamlining the process for practitioners to attend.

“We are immensely grateful to the Texas Bar Foundation for its commitment to strengthening legal services for immigrant communities,” said Anna Gallagher, CLINIC’s executive director. “With this support, Texas legal practitioners will gain invaluable knowledge and skills that will directly benefit immigrant families and individuals across the state. CLINIC Convening is a unique chance for attorneys and legal staff to collaborate on solutions and improve the quality of legal support for those who need it most.”

Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $28 million in grants to law-related programs. Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation is the nation's largest charitably funded bar foundation. This grant reflects the Foundation’s ongoing dedication to advancing justice by supporting those who serve vulnerable populations.

The Texas practitioners’ presence at CLINIC Convening 2025 is expected to have a lasting impact on service delivery throughout the state, enhancing support for immigrant families and contributing to a stronger network of legal advocates. This initiative aligns with CLINIC’s mission to equip immigration legal service providers with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to defend and uphold the rights of immigrants and their families.
