Estefania Chavez Higgins
Estefania is a Supervising Attorney at Catholic Charities Immigration Legal Services in D.C. Estefania provides direct legal representation in a wide range of immigration matters, helping to make a difference in the lives of her clients! She also provides mentorship to pro bono attorneys and conducts legal trainings and community presentations. Estefania received her juris doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Before joining Catholic Charities, Estefania served as a staff attorney, and, later, the interim director for the legal department at CARECEN DC. During law school, Estefania participated in the Immigration Legal Clinic and directed the Tennessee College of Law’s U-Visa Alternative Spring Break Program, which provided legal assistance to the immigrant community. Due to her dedication to public service, Estefania was awarded the William Lecher Jr. Public Service Price and was recognized by the Tennessee Supreme Court as a 2014 Law Student for Justice. A native of Honduras, Estefania utilizes her skills, knowledge, and cultural background to help the immigrant community within the Washington region to reach their full potential. Estefania is a member of the D.C. and Tennessee bars.
