Project Assistant
Summary
The Project Assistant provides administrative and logistical support to Field Engagement activities that help expand immigration legal services capacity through strategic, innovative, immigrant inclusive and collaborative service delivery and legal empowerment models. The Project Assistant supports broader field engagement efforts, provides direct project management support, and engages in external relations as needed. The Project Assistant reports to the Senior Field Engagement Strategist.
Primary Responsibilities
Project Data Management
- Provide administrative and logistical support to field engagement team and projects.
- Provide administrative support to monitor and document project performance by partners and sub-grantees of assigned projects through collecting project data and maintaining accurate records for internal and external reporting.
- Coordinate project initiatives as assigned, including but not limited to scheduling, notetaking, and follow-up of project participant check-ins.
- Assist Senior Field Engagement Strategist to gather information needed for funding applications, budgeting, and Board of Directors and management consumption, as requested.
- Prepare documents (including spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations) for internal and external meetings, as assigned.
- Support cross sectional coordination of activities to ensure proper management of deliverables, service delivery and adequate support of funded partners.
Field Engagement
- Assist in building deep relationships with agencies and members of the field by supporting, participating, and helping facilitate check-in calls, conference calls, coalition building and other engagement activities (including cohort calls and peer to peer learning opportunities). - Maintain a broad knowledge and understanding of the highlights, challenges, and promising practices of CLINIC’s affiliates and partner legal service providers, particularly project participants.
External Relations
- Provide administrative support to expand accurate and comprehensive information and guidance to CLINIC affiliates and partner LSPs (as appropriate) on CLINIC affiliate benefits, discernment tools for how and when to create authorized immigration legal services, and other general inquiries as needed.
- Support CLINIC’s Communications team efforts in promoting CLINIC’s Field Engagement work through the creation and updating (as needed) of CLINIC’s publications, resources, website, and social media content.
- Participate and attend virtual and in person meetings required by grants and as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree, or four years of administrative or programmatic related experience required.
- Experience in working in the Immigration Legal Services Field preferred.
- Knowledge of Immigration Legal Services field in California, a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro, and ability to quickly learn other programs or software that assist with job responsibilities.
- Extraordinary interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others internally and externally with a high degree of professionalism.
- Highly detail-oriented, strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate excellent judgment and initiative.

Salary Range
- $65,000-$70,000
Location
- Anywhere within the continental United States, California preferred.
Employment Level
- 18-month employment contract with possible extension.
Work Environment
- This position may require extended periods of standing, sitting, as well as some repetitive movements, bending and repetitive lifting of significant weight.
