Voting is an important way to make your voice heard on a local, state and national level. But if you are not a U.S. citizen and you register to vote, you may be viewed as making a false claim to citizenship, which can make you ineligible to immigrate and subject to removal from the United States.
In this election year, many organizations are doing voter drives to make it easy for you to register to vote right away.
Remember, if you are not a U.S. citizen, do not fill out or sign a voter registration form!
If you are not sure if you are a U.S. citizen, check first BEFORE you register.
