Writing a Compelling Asylum Declaration

The applicant’s declaration is often the single most important piece of evidence in an asylum seeker’s case. This interactive session will begin with introductory concepts about what declarations should include and how to make them persuasive. We will then break into small groups and work on drafting parts of an asylum declaration. The groups will discuss one another’s work and learn to write factual statements that persuasively support the theme of the case. This session will be capped at 20 participants.
