Pre-Trial Strategies and Motions

Noncitizens are increasingly at risk of being placed in removal proceedings, and these proceedings have become increasingly adversarial. This panel will focus on defenses and pre-trial procedures in immigration court. The panelists will discuss defenses based on defective Notices to Appear or defective service, and strategic considerations in making a motion to terminate. This session will also address common pre-trial motions in immigration court, including motions to change venue, motions to continue, and motions to consolidate or sever cases.
