February 8, 2015 is the feast day of St. Josephine Bakhita and marks the first International Day of Prayer and Awareness against Human Trafficking.  Human trafficking is modern-day slavery that exploits vulnerable persons, often taking victims across international borders and leaving them without the information or ability to flee their plight.  This day is an opportunity to reflect upon the factors in society that lead to trafficking, explore anti-trafficking efforts, and to advocate for the human dignity of this vulnerable group.
