Mayor Catherine E. Pugh Celebrates Women’s History Month

In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Baltimore Mayor’s Office highlighted the importance of women helping each other succeed.

Michelle Mendez, CLINIC’s Defending Vulnerable Populations Project manager, was interviewed alongside Mayor Catherine E. Pugh; Dr. Leana S. Wen, Baltimore City Health Commissioner; Marion McGaskey Blackwell, a Baltimore housing activist; and Diane Bell-McKoy, President and CEO of Associated Black Charities.

Advocates stress that the U.S. has moral obligation to welcome refugees

Leaders from six Catholic organizations, including Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc., spoke out against President Trump’s immigration-related executive orders.

CLINIC Executive Director Jeanne Atkinson spoke to the dangers of increased detention and deportation.

“An increase in enforcement by federal and local officials “threatens due process and makes our communities and their residents, American and foreign-born, less safe,” Atkinson said.
