  • Putting Out the Welcome Mat: The Power of Citizenship to Connect Receiving and Newcomer Communities
    Whether through citizenship mentoring programs, citizenship ceremonies, or positive communications, there are many ways in which refugees and the receiving community can be encouraged to come together to support our nation’s newest members.

  • Text4Refugees
    CLINIC’s text4refugees project is an innovative effort to reach more refugees and asylees in a unique way – through their cell phones. Research shows that even newly arrived refugees have cell phones and communicate in high numbers via text message.

  • Citizenship Navigator Program
    CLINIC’s new Citizenship Navigatorprogram, funded by the Office of Refugee Resettlement, offers ORR grantees, including refugee resettlement offices and refugee mutual assistance associations, support and encouragement to achieve two important goals:

    • To increase the number of refugees applying for naturalization;
    • To increase the number of refugee resettlement organizations authorized to provide naturalization assistance to their clients

    Citizenship test preparation classes are the perfect complement to legal services in helping immigrants become United States citizens.

    is a unique handbook for teachers and administrators on creating and managing a citizenship program for the older learner.
