Melissa Hastings is a Policy Advisor at the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops / Migration and Refugee Services (USCCB/MRS). In this role, she advocates to advance the U.S. bishops’ priorities relating to immigration, human trafficking, and unaccompanied children. Melissa has a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University. Prior to joining USCCB/MRS, Melissa was a policy intern with the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, where she primarily worked on issues relating to refugees and unaccompanied children. She also worked at the law firm of Vinson & Elkins where she engaged in commercial litigation and pro bono immigration work.
