Reliable communication is indispensable to assure that information is transmitted and received in a manner and language that child clients understand, whether it is in the office, at a detention center, in a USCIS interview, or in immigration court.  Advocates have a duty to ensure the provision of quality language services to allow children to participate in court proceedings and services. Panelists will discuss common challenges and best practices for working with interpreters.  CLINIC will be joined by Jaime Fatás-Cabeza, Federally Certified Interpreter, Healthcare certified interpreter (Eng/Spa) and Associate Professor and Director, Undergraduate Translation and Interpretation Program, Department of Spanish and Portuguese, University of Arizona.
