This two-day training conference is designed for legal workers and attorneys who work with refugees, asylees and their families on immigration law matters. The conference agenda includes presentations and discussions on current issues affecting refugees and asylees, including adjustment of status, obtaining derivative status for family members and other family reunification issues, the current political landscape toward refugees, the Central American Minors (CAM) Program, immigration consequences of crimes, naturalization, and other related issues. In addition to presentations by immigration law practitioners, participants will hear from government speakers involved with asylee and refugee issues. Interested participants will also have the opportunity to tour the Nebraska Service Center and meet with staff on the morning of March 17th ($40 Transportation Fee).

 

Please Note:

All visitors to the Nebraska Service Center must present a valid government issued identification document to enter the building.  Additionally,  NSC requires all  visitors who are not U.S. citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents to submit DHS Form 11052-1  at least 30 days prior to the visit.   Completed forms must be e-mailed to ceo.nsc2@uscis.dhs.gov  no later than February 16th .  If the form is not received by February 16th, you will not be able to participate in the NSC tour.
