CLINIC is partnering with Immigrant Defenders and Public Counsel to offer a full day training to attorneys and fully accredited representatives who work full-time at an LAJF organization.
The June session is part one of a two-part training focusing on direct examination of a defensive asylum seeker. Part two will take place sometime in August (exact date and location TBD) and will focus on expert witness direct examination using the same case file. Registration for this training in June does not guarantee participation in the August session; and there is no requirement to complete part one in order to register for part two.
Address: MALDEF Building, 634 S. Spring St., Los Angeles, CA 90014; Edison Room, 1st Floor.
Date: Thursday, June 6, 2019
Time: 9:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. PDT
Meals: California Community Foundation (CCF) to provide coffee and lunch
In advance of the trainings, participants must:
- Review the case file (to be emailed to selected participants)
- Read the schedule and prepare accordingly (to be emailed)
All participants are required to commit time to preparing prior to arrival, should this have any bearing on your decision to attend this training. The training is capped at 24 people.
Those interested in this training must apply by Wednesday, May 15. We will notify selected participants as soon as possible. Note that no more than four participants from the same LAJF organization will be selected. There will also be a waitlist.
