Petition for Regulations on Appointed Counsel for Immigrants in Removal
CLINIC, along with five other national immigrant advocacy organizations, signed a petition asking Attorney General Eric Holder to initiate rulemaking on the right to counsel to indigent individauls, where necessary, in removal proceedings to ensure the fundamental fairness of the proceedings.

CLINIC commented on USCIS's proposed rule regarding adjustment of status for legal immigrants that have Tor U visa nonimmigrant status.

Comments on Documents Acceptable for Employment Verification
On February 2, 2009, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), and the Catholic Legal Immigration Network (CLINIC) submited comments on the interim rule issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that would require all documents submitted to employers for employment authorization verification purposes to be unexpired.
