The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) signed onto a July 23, 2012 letter urging members of Congress to support the Help Separated Families Act, legislation introduced by Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA-34). The bill aims to improve the likelihood that children placed in the child welfare system as a result of immigration enforcement actions against their parents can ultimately reunify with their parents. The letter was signed by 137 national, state, and local organizations.
