The Catholic Legal Immigration Network (CLINIC) has launched the National Pro Bono Project for Children, a new initiative to help match unaccompanied minors released from government custody with free legal representation. Starting immediately, CLINIC is welcoming volunteer attorneys and fully accredited BIA representatives to participate in the project. CLINIC will train and provide support to volunteer attorneys, including mentoring and access to training and other resource materials specific to representing children.
CLINIC was selected to operate the pro bono matching program by the Vera Institute of Justice which oversees a national program that provides legal information and obtains pro bono counsel for both detained and released unaccompanied children nationwide. You can read more about the project in our press release.
