USCIS has announced it will begin stateside adjudication of waivers of the unlawful presence ground of inadmissibility for certain immediate relatives. The process will give immediate relatives a way to apply for an unlawful presence waiver without lengthy separation from their families and the risk of not returning to the U.S. CLINIC envisions many immediate relatives who have not before applied for a waiver now wanting to do so. CLINIC will offer two roundtable sessions on preparing for stateside adjudication of waivers during which attendees will be informed of the latest on the status of implementation of this new procedure. Attendees will have the opportunity to brainstorm about the issues arising out of this procedure and work on strategies for addressing these issues.
