How do you determine whether your client's criminal record affects eligibility for a particular benefit under immigration law? Or makes your client inadmissible or deportable? In this second of a five-part webinar series, the presenters will discuss gathering the facts and reviewing criminal records. The presenters will discuss ways to interview clients about criminal issues, what criminal records to obtain and how to obtain them. Future webinars will cover particular categories of crimes, including crimes of moral turpitude and aggravated felonies (March 11); researching criminal statutes and caselaw (April 1); and applying the steps of case analysis to various scenarios. (Date TBA) The speakers will be Susan Schreiber and Sarah Bronstein, Staff Attorneys with Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc.
