Training Information: This two-day training is directed at helping legal advocates, organizers and community leaders prepare and plan for immigration enforcement actions by the Department of Homeland Security. Persons from Nebraska and the surrounding states are particularly encouraged to attend. The training aims to strengthen regional coalitions, and connect them to national backup. Participants will learn about the mechanics of enforcement actions and removal proceedings, as well as key elements in developing and implementing an enforcement response plan. The trainers for this program are CLINIC attorneys Tanisha Bowens and Susan Schreiber; Shelley Schrader of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Omaha; Alison Brown of the Peck Law Firm, LLC; and other local speakers.

 

Registration Fees:  The registration fee for this training is $50.00 for persons from non-profit programs; $100.00 for private attorneys and staff. The fee includes the training manual and breakfast on both days.

 

The training is for the staff of Catholic Charities and other community-based organizations with IRS 501(c)(3) status, and attorneys and legal worker staff of private law offices. As a requirement of registration, if you are registering as staff of a community-based organization, fax a copy of your IRS 501(3) letter designating your agency as a nonprofit entity to CLINIC at 415-394-8696 to the attention of Chris Ozaki. Your registration will be confirmed upon receipt of this letter. Payment is by credit card only.
