About the training:
This two-day training will include in-depth coverage of selected topics in family-based immigration including establishing qualifying relationships for family-based petitions; updates and review of the Child Status Protection Act; priority date retention and conversion; updates on inadmissibility issues; applying for residency through adjustment of status and consular processing; administrative motions to reopen and appeals to the AAO; preparing effective waiver applications; and abandonment of residency. The trainers for this program are CLINIC attorneys Susan Schreiber of Chicago and Jennie Guilfoyle of New York. An application for Illinois CLE credit is pending.
Note that this is not an introductory training and is not geared to new immigration advocates.
Cost:
- $220 per person for staff of CLINIC affiliates and for members of ICIRR; $660 cap for up to three staff/ site ($50 materials fee per person for more than 3 attendees from same office site)
- $245 per person for non-profit program staff; $735 cap for up to three staff/ site ($50 materials fee per person for more than 3 attendees from same office site)
- $375 per person for private attorneys and their staff
